Single Jet Technology: The Cutting Head System

At the core of every Fedjet system is the jet cutting head technology, where high-pressure water (and optionally, abrasive) is transformed into an incredibly precise, controlled tool. Unlike the high-pressure pump which generates the power, the cutting head is responsible for focusing and directing this energy with pinpoint accuracy onto the workpiece. It is a sophisticated assembly of components designed for durability, precision control, and optimal jet formation, enabling both pure water and abrasive waterjet cutting.

Key Components

Ultra-High Pressure Water Inlet

Ultra-High Pressure Water Inlet

Receives and directs a continuous, ultra-high-pressure water stream, reliably handling inputs up to 413 MPa (60,000 psi).
Abrasive Induction System

Abrasive Induction System

Injects a precisely metered stream of abrasive garnet into the water stream, multiplying its cutting power by over 1,000 times for machining hard materials.
Mixing Tube & Focusing Nozzle

Mixing Tube & Focusing Nozzle

A critical component where water and abrasive are mixed and accelerated. The geometry of the nozzle and the wear-resistant mixing tube (typically made of carbide or sapphire) are crucial for creating a coherent, high-velocity jet.
Orifice

Orifice

A jeweled (often diamond or sapphire) component that creates the initial high-velocity water stream. With standard diameters as fine as0.25mm to 0.4mm , it is the first stage of energy focus.

Transforming Water into Precision

Fedjet's advanced jet technology, whether in robust 3-axis or sophisticated 5-axis form, is engineered to transform raw water pressure into a reliable, versatile, and extraordinarily precise industrial tool. By choosing a system built around this core technology, you invest in the capability to tackle your most challenging materials and designs with confidence, quality, and efficiency.
